Trim the top of your high hedge quickly, easily and in complete safety keeping both feet on the ground using this superb new 2-in-1 angle-adjustable electric trimmer from Eckman.

2-in-1: for normal trimming use in the impressive ‘Standard-Reach’ position (3ft 6in / 1.05m) and for extra high hedges simply use the extension handle for up to 7ft (2.15m) of ‘Long-Reach’! It takes just 30seconds to switch positions and is very well balanced, lightweight (min weight 3.2kg) and angle-adjustable by 112.5degrees – in many cases allowing fast, safe trimming around all shapes, sizes and types of hedges without the need for a step ladder.

Q&As

Q: Is there a customer service phone number I can call for assistance?
A:
The Eckman Customer Service number is 0871 590 5911

Q: How easy is it to change the cutting angle of the blade?
A:
There are two large red spring-loaded buttons on the outside of the handle. These need to be pressed in to release the tension. The motor and blade can then be moved to the required position. Releasing the knobs locks the motor and blade in that position

Q: If I want to use the trimmer in the ‘Long-Reach’ position, how long does it take to attach the extension handle and do I need any special tools?
A:
It takes about 30 seconds or less to attach the extension handle and no tools are required! You simply disconnect the power lead from the trimmer (you don’t need to disconnect the plug from the mains electric), then insert the extension handle which simply locks tight into the trimmer, and finally reconnect the power. Please see the video available online to see how easy it is to use

Q: Is there any initial assembly required when I receive the trimmer?
A:
Everything is already assembled with the exception of the guard which must be fitted using a Philips screwdriver and the two screws supplied. Obviously if you wish to use the trimmer with the extension handle you will need to fix the handle as mentioned above

Q: Is the trimmer heavy to use in the Long-Reach position (i.e. with the extension handle connected)?
A:
Its total weight is 4.45kg / 9.8lbs. And due to the impressive design its weight is distributed well so that it does not feel ‘top heavy’. Cushioned handles and adjustable shoulder strap also help to make it easy to use

Q: Must I use an RCD (residual current detector) when operating the trimmer?
A:
There is no obligation or legal requirement to use an RCD but we do recommend the use of one when working outdoors with any mains-operated equipment

Q: Is the shoulder strap length adjustable?
A:
Yes so you will be able to adjust it to provide the maximum comfort

Q: I have no mechanical knowledge or experience. How much servicing is necessary to keep the trimmer in top condition?
A:
After each use, we recommend wiping with a dry or slightly water dampened cloth and then wiping the blade with a little oil.  Please be sure to disconnect from the mains supply before doing this
