A: There are two main factors which determine to what extent an amplified antenna will help you to receive a better, stronger television signal. The further you live from a television transmitter as well as whether your home has ‘line of sight’ to the transmitter will greatly influence the signal you receive. We recommend that before you buy you visit www.ukfree.tv/transmitters.php to check how far you are from your local transmitter - because if you live far from a transmitter plus live in a built up area or without line of sight to the transmitter, then it is likely that even an amplified antenna will be unable to improve your signal, and that a rooftop antenna will be required instead.
