It does what it says on the box. Operationaly a little bit clumsy to keep going through the menu systems each time you swithch on or want to change something. Quality of scanner result average, obviously depending on the quality of the original slide, but adequate for family holiday snaps and family memories but not for high quality work.

Having read other reviews I went for this model. Love the fact it's not tied to a PC all the time; the advantages of this design aspect shouldn't be underestimated. Within 20 mins of taking this out of the box I was scanning slide after slide having got easily used to the menu system. Great product and everything you need comes with the item.

Once I got the hang of it I found it very easy to use. It means family slides can be available for us all in easy to see fashion. Quick start should come after the explanation of menus otherwise people will do what I did and reproduce slides of white people with black faces!

RESULTS ARE VERY GOOD PARTICULARLY ON SLIDES. tHE MAIN DISADVANTAGE ON NEGATIVES IS HAVING TO SHIFT THEM TO CENTRE THE SHOT AND THE NEED TO TRY TO KEEP DUST OFF THE IMAGE. tHIS CAN TURN OUT TO BE DIFFICULT AS IT SHOWS UP WHEN BLOWN UP BUT NOT WHEN THE IMAGE IS TAKEN. iN ALL i THOUGHT IT IS GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY.

Q: Do I need a computer to convert my slides and negatives to digital?
A: No. This product will scan and copy your slides and negatives directly to the SD card supplied, using the built-in SD card reader. However, this product also has a USB-out connection and comes supplied with a USB lead so you can connect it to a PC or MAC and ‘drag’ images saved on the SD card to your computer.
Q: Will this work with a MAC and a PC?
A: Yes. This will work with both a PC and a MAC
Q: Does this product come supplied with any image editing software included which I can use on my PC / MAC?
A: No. This does not come with software for computers as the main point of the product is that you do not need a PC or MAC to scan and digitise your old slides / negatives! *
