However I have succesfully transferred some test VHS recordings both to hard drive and DVD. I have yet to successfully use the Showbiz software, but I have downloaded a manual from Arcsoft and I do not therefore anticipate problems using it.

I tried the product with a TV/VCR combi unit, and it didnt work. I then got hold of a dedicated VCR and it worked very well using the yellow/red/white S-video connections into a SCART. Sound is decent. Overall good value for money in transferring old home movies to DVD file etc. Have not yet tried it with 'real' VHS films (copying those is illegal, of course!) but i think it would also work well with those. Only complaint would be that I cant get the AVI type file working so have to choose between MPEG (poor quality) or DVD (big file size). But it is still a good value for money product if you can get it working, if it fails at first i recommend try a few different combinations of hardware til you find something that it likes.

The Instructions are non existent.However managed to get it working from the camcorder no problem, but experienced difficulty with VHS tapes. I phoned the customer services centre and someone called Joe was extremely helpful. I was using an input socket not an output socket/ It turned out I should have been using the scart lead from the back of the VHS player so probably had purchased wrong RGB lead. Could do with proper simple instructions.
